Oral history interview with William Vickroy [sound recording] / interviewed by Howard Fredricks. 1977 Sept. 20.

Vickroy discusses growing up in Ohio during the Great Depression, attending Ohio State University, and serving in the United States Army's Reserve Officers' Training Corps. He details his lifetime involvement in sports at Ohio State University, including playing and coaching football, and becoming Director of Athletics at the University of Wisconsin at La Crosse. He also describes his views on athletes balancing school and sports.

The Medical Alumni Society of The Ohio State University College of Medicine, since 1931 with the exception of 1939, has given the honor of "Man of the Year" to a doctor(s) during their annual reunions. The Department of Military Science was established at the University of Oregon in 1919. The school had sponsored military training through the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) program before the creation of a Military Science department.
